Our fears, ego, and anxieties get a BAD REP! Everyone wants them gone like they are being haunted by a spooky ghost. Was Casper a scary ghost? No, just a little boy who had some unfinished business. We all have that inner child in us, that inner child has some unfinished business and until our adult self will listen, it's going to keep bugging us! I am not saying that is not possible for us to get rid of our anxieties, but our pains and our anxieties are communicating with us, leading up to the path of healing. Most likely our anxieties come from an unmet need, an unheard part, or a part of us that needs healing.
Here are some types of Therapies you can incorporate into your sessions to face your shadows, fears, pains, and anxieties this spooky season.
What is shadow work?
Working with your unconscious mind to uncover the parts of yourself that you repress and hide from yourself. This can include trauma or parts of your personality that you subconsciously consider undesirable. Your therapist will work with you to identify these parts of you.
" In therapy, the therapist encounters shadows in the painful experiences that their clients share. The therapist and client build a safe relationship where shadow can be explored. Shadow is very difficult to work with because of resistance. The outcome of examining oneself and facing what has happened in one’s life, however, gives a person freedom to create change and use the wealth of energy that was tied up in shadow."
I love this image above, it really shows us how we interact with our inner and outer world. This is Jung's version of the model of our psyche. As you can see the shadow and the ego are not the same. Ego is your identity (protector part), while the persona is the mask you wear to survive and thrive – your social personality. Shadow is the aspect you hide so that you can integrate and find acceptance.
Working with our many "parts"
Parts Work – specifically getting to know the disowned and disavowed parts of us and then actively working to reclaim and integrate them into our conscious adult lives – is a critical skill we build in relational trauma recovery work.
What are Internal Family Systems?
Internal Family Systems is a powerfully transformative, evidence-based model of psychotherapy. We believe the mind is naturally multiple and that is a good thing. Our inner parts contain valuable qualities and our core Self knows how to heal, allowing us to become integrated and whole. In IFS all parts are welcome.

Reiki Services with Christa
Nothing better than a nice warm reiki session on a fall day to clear the energy.
Reiki is a Japanese form of relaxation and energy healing. By harnessing this universal energy I am able to help heal the client from within. Just as a chiropractor aligns your spine, I use Reiki energy to align your chakras. Everything about our daily lives can affect our chakras, from the environment we live in to the words we speak. When our chakras are out of alignment the energy can manifest physically or emotionally. Through our sessions, I will help to navigate your individual needs while incorporating oracle cards, crystals, and essential oils.
Christa has openings for the month of October. If some relaxation is what you need reach out to her today!
Note from Samantha:
I am off for a two-week training/adventure to learn more about the law of attraction. I look forward to bringing back fresh energy to my clients. More about this next month! Looking forward to sharing my journey with you. Much love and gratitude always
